OK

OK. So, I know because of what I do in radio that it is 100% illegal to record someone's voice without their permission. If someone calls the radio station....it's all good because they know who they are calling, and it can be reasonably assumed that they could be recorded. You call us...we can record away!!!

But here is what I just did at home. I keep getting these calls from this 800 service. They are either soliciting or something?? So they start by asking for me by name (not Bubba)...they then say "I just want to let you know that this call could be recorded for quality assurance". Guess what...TOO LATE! The second they record me saying the word "hello"...TOO LATE!

So, here is what I do. Soon as they read me their shpiel....I say...."I do not give you permission to record my voice". Well guess what, she keeps talking and asking questions. So, I stop her and say, "I want to reiterate, I DO NOT give you permission to record my voice, are you still recording?"

Well, she say's "yes". Now at this point, I become firm, and say "It is against the law to record my voice without my permission, and I DO NOT give you permission"! Capiche! (Is that how you spell the word capiche?)

Now I am wondering....have I found the loop hole in the system??? Is this how we can stop all the solicitation phone calls?? Is this how we can stop all the pestering bill collectors??? What if I sued this company for illegally recording my voice without my permission???

I am not a lawyer, but , in the world I live in my brain, this actually makes sense. If we were to all get together and sue these companies that drive us NUTS (or at least my house) with calls every single day, maybe we could end those ridiculous calls at 7:38am on a Sunday morning. (YES....I said Sunday morning!!!)

Is there anybody that is reading this blog that knows if I am on to something??? Does this seem right?? Does this seem doable??? Am I nuts? (OK don't answer that question!)

This is today's million dollar idea...tomorrow....oranges without seeds....or a back pack for flight attendants with a soda gun for all your drink needs....no more stupid carts!!!
