Well....what can I say? The end of another year.
Let me tell you that 2009 was MUCH better then 2008, which at times might was the worst year of my life!!! Someday I will be able to write more about that, but just not today!
- I just went outside and shoveled the walk in slippers.
- Why are they called slippers? Does anyone know???
- New Years Eve fun fact #1:It is often thought that the first visitors you see after ringing in the New Year would bring you good or bad luck, depending on who you keep as friends and enemies. That's why most people celebrating on New Year's Eve often do so with friends and family.
- Here is my New Years Resolution. Seriously...no joke. To become healthier. To eat better. Excercise. I have just gotten so DAMN unhealthy and it kills me....and eventually will!
-Coffee is so good! Can I be healthy and still drink coffee??
- Watching some ghost show on Discovery. I just wasted 30 minutes of my life to see a knife fall off a table for the climactic finish!!
- It is so good to be in business with good people. As I sit here today wrapping up 2009, and look back on the year, I need to thank Tony for giving me a shot when I needed it most. I have had some really bad business dealings in my life and it has not only hurt me but my family. It is so nice to finally have someone like the people at Mullen's. I have no idea if they even read this or not (then again, I am not sure anyone actually reads this) but if they do....THANK YOU!
- New Years Eve Fun Fact #2: December 31, 1907 saw the very first ball lowering in Times Square.
- Today is PERFECT snowman making snow.
- Who let the dogs out? Who? Who? I'm serious!
- My wife sleeps more then any person I have ever met. (OK...my college roommate Cyril slept more then anyone I ever knew)
- Brianna had a dream that people were raffling off cats and that I didn't have a car so we had to slide on our butts to their Grammy's house where she was playing slot machines. WHAT HAVE I DONE TO THESE KIDS?????

- I am about to lose a friend. We had an agreement that if we did not get together while he was in town this week....our friendship was OVER! So, we were going to get together on Saturday. Tracy told me yesterday that we are going to Hidden Valley on Saturday. Lifetime friendship traded for tubing.....this will not be a fun phone call.

- My kids all have toys/ games that they can play with all by themselves. There is no need for human interaction. I like the way this is going. A generation of kids that don't need anyone else. That could be a good or bad thing!?!? I say a bad thing!

(oh...by the way...it was also my cousins LAST date with that girl)

Stillers n at
I was talking to one of my best friends Jorge Gonzalez (look it up) and he threw something past me that is worth considering.
Last night the Colts were dominating the Jets. Then, for no apparent reason decided to pull their starters with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. The Jets win! hmmmmmm......
OK...now why would they do that? Here is a theory. You see the Colts knew they could dominate the Jets. So, if they were to meet them in the playoffs...NO PROBLEM! But...if they beat the Jets...they basically eliminate them from the playoffs....putting the STEELERS in a much better position to make the playoffs.
So.....what do the Colts do...throw the game. You see, the Colts would much rather play the Jets again then ANY CHANCE OF PLAYING THE STEELERS!
Believe it???? OR DON'T!!!
- Brett Favre is playing like crap. BENCH HIM! Nobody is bigger then TEAM!

- When is an appropriate time to salt the driveway? I always thought after you shovel? In my mind once it is on the ground, when more snow would fall on it, that would melt the snow. For some reason that is not how it works?
- I remember when I lived off of free Taco Bell coupons and $50.00 to Max & Erma's from the radio station. Those were the days!!!!!
- All that weight I lost....it's chasing me....I can't (pant) keep (pant pant) up!!!
- Drank all my homemade wine.....mmmmmm......great sleeps those nights.
- We are talking about adding hoagies to our menu at Mullen's. What do you call hoagies? Grinders? Subs? Toasted Sandwiches?

- What year will be the Pirates year? Seriously. Not a joke. Not a bit. What year will the Pirates have a winning season and be in contention for the division in September? Not gratuitous Pirates slamming here! I love the Pirates. But, what year? 2010? 2011? 2012? 2030? I think the year will be 2011. The Pirates will be above .500 in September 2011! (Damn, there I went with more sports)

Twas the night before...
....Christmas.
So, I guess I need to explain. You see, I am Jewish. Very proud to be Jewish and wouldn't change it for the world. I don't believe (memory loss is kicking in) I have ever dated anyone that was Jewish, not for any reason I can think of, just the road that life took me.
So...why is it I spend so much time talking about Christmas. Because I love it. Oh, yeah, and my wife is also Catholic.
Back to Christmas. So, as a kid, since I went to Greenfield elementary school and there were not a lot of Jewish people there, my parents would always make sure we would do something cool on Christmas eve so we would not feel left out. (usually Chinese food and games and stuff). Christmas day was always very boring because NOTHING was open.
But leading up to Christmas, I loved. I loved the TV shows. I loved the music. I loved the happiness. The joyfullness and everything in between. But....to this very day, I really enjoy Christmas eve day and Christmas eve much more then I do Christmas day.
My first Christmas experience came in high school when a friend of mine (Kara) invited me to spend Christmas eve with her family. We had a big dinner, we decorated the Christmas tree and then went to Midnight mass. (what a trip that was, but that is another blog for another day)
But as I got older and moved out of my parents house, my Christmas experience developed with my ex girlfriends. I always thought, what a great idea. If I were Christian, I would definately date a Jewish guy. There would never be a fight as to "whose side of the family we would go to"? Etc.
Gifts, and Bubba Claus. That's right, for several years I would dress up Christmas eve as Santa Claus. I would ring my bells, come down the stairs of my ex girlfriends grand parents house and have all the cousins, and nieces and nephews sit on my lap and tell me what they wanted for Christmas. My biggest fear was that they would ask me the names of the Reindeer. I still don't know them. Let me try. Bashful, Sneezy, Grumpy, Rudolph....oh never mind.
Then I met my wife. Her family is Catholic and Italian, and I for the first time found out about the 7 fishes (why is it not 7 fish? Isn't fish plural?) But, I digress. It was awesome. Loud, food, fun, beer, wine....everything that a holiday should be. Just complete chaos....with everyone together, and happy and joyous, and having fun. But that was Christmas Eve. Christmas day was much more reserved. My brother in laws and I may have been nursing wine hangovers, and that could have been a part of it....but it was still nice.
Any time family can come together for a joyous time, is a great day for me.
You see, I may be Jewish, but I do love Christmas. Maybe not for the same reasons as someone of the Christian, faith, but for reasons that are important for me. Family!
So....don't worry about offending anyone by saying Merry Christmas. Stop the Happy Holiday's crap. If you know someone is Jewish wish them a Happy Chanukah. If not....take a shot. Wish someone a Merry Christmas.....if they are offended....that is there problem....not yours!

Night before
Twas the night before, the night before Christmas and all thru the house, every creature was stirring and driving me freaking mad.
Eli was running and jumping and stuff....and Tracy was cooking Pierogies...enough is enough.
Michaela and Brianna were bathing and more, and Aleia was drinking her iced tea for sure.
I, in my chair with computer on lap, to figure out how much money was spent, I will surely need a map.
I really can't rhyme, I've never done it before. But if that fat little elf does not get here soon, I surely cannot endure.
I love the holiday's but can't stand the buying, right now Michaela was tackled by Eli and is now crying.
So what do I do, I really am happy, but for some reason tonight, I feel kind of crappy.
Tomorrow will be better, and I will make sure I smile. But if these kids don't pick up there mess, the river I will live near will soon be the Nile.
So before I go, I have to do some math, at least if I get a divorce, I will end up with half!!!
(twice as much as I have now)

Deck the
* Ya know....tonight we ordered pizza from Ardolino's in the South Hills (awesome pizza everyone should try it if you live in the south hills), and I realized that a large pizza and hoagie is not enough for my entire family. How did this happen? What am I going to do when they all hit double digits. I am going to need to get a third job!!!
* I have the best dog. His name is Zeus and he is a Samoyed. He is getting old now. Outside of some arthritic hips and his barking, he is the best dog ever! My daughter Aleia and he are best friends. God help anyone that would ever try to F with my kids. Zeus would take them out!
* What is the most impacting scene you have ever watched in a movie? I can without a doubt tell you mine. In the Pursuit of Happyness with Wil Smith. The 1st night that he is homeless with his son and spends the night in a bathroom in a subway station and holds his foot on the door to make sure nobody comes in. That entire scene might be my greatest fear in this entire world! If you have not watched the movie.....DO IT! When you watch it, remember that it is a true story!
* Watching Christmas Vacation tonight. Funny, Funny Stuff.....
* My daughters bath / shower more in a week then I think I do in a month. (that may be an exageration)

* Today I made a BBQ chicken wrap for lunch at Mullen's. Our BBQ sauce is SO good, we need to put it on our new menu! If you have any good recipes that you think we should add to our menu....e-mail them to me. (see above for address)
* I have a bottle of homemade wine and a bottle of champagne that one of our guests gave me at Mullen's. I am on vacation from the radio station next week, and I am going to watch bad movies and drink! I hope my kids come downstairs in the morning and find me passed out. OK
OK. So, I know because of what I do in radio that it is 100% illegal to record someone's voice without their permission. If someone calls the radio station....it's all good because they know who they are calling, and it can be reasonably assumed that they could be recorded. You call us...we can record away!!!
But here is what I just did at home. I keep getting these calls from this 800 service. They are either soliciting or something?? So they start by asking for me by name (not Bubba)...they then say "I just want to let you know that this call could be recorded for quality assurance". Guess what...TOO LATE! The second they record me saying the word "hello"...TOO LATE!
So, here is what I do. Soon as they read me their shpiel....I say...."I do not give you permission to record my voice". Well guess what, she keeps talking and asking questions. So, I stop her and say, "I want to reiterate, I DO NOT give you permission to record my voice, are you still recording?"
Well, she say's "yes". Now at this point, I become firm, and say "It is against the law to record my voice without my permission, and I DO NOT give you permission"! Capiche! (Is that how you spell the word capiche?)
Now I am wondering....have I found the loop hole in the system??? Is this how we can stop all the solicitation phone calls?? Is this how we can stop all the pestering bill collectors??? What if I sued this company for illegally recording my voice without my permission???
I am not a lawyer, but , in the world I live in my brain, this actually makes sense. If we were to all get together and sue these companies that drive us NUTS (or at least my house) with calls every single day, maybe we could end those ridiculous calls at 7:38am on a Sunday morning. (YES....I said Sunday morning!!!)
Is there anybody that is reading this blog that knows if I am on to something??? Does this seem right?? Does this seem doable??? Am I nuts? (OK don't answer that question!)
This is today's million dollar idea...tomorrow....oranges without seeds....or a back pack for flight attendants with a soda gun for all your drink needs....no more stupid carts!!!

* I just watched a video of Mel's husband scaring the crap out of her newborn baby! The funniest part....Mel saying that she is going to win money on AFHV!
* for some reason, the holiday spirit is not in me yet. I usually LOVE this time of year, this year....not sure why not!
* Melanie is behind me distracting me because she is listening to Kenny Rogers Christmas music. Really?? Always used to love his "roasters" though.
* I am eating the Sweet Tart knock offs of Smarties. (you know the candy). They are actually really good. I used to hate the Smarties knock offs that used to fizz in your mouth as a kids that really sucked. These...really good!
* I am going to go to school today and teach the kids about Chanukah. As I was walking out the door I looked down and realized I was wearing a Miller Lite shirt. Now, I do love Miller Lite, but probably not the best idea going to talk to Kindergartners.
* Why don't bad things ever happen to bad people? Seriously. I think about this every single day. I would much rather be a good person and work my ass off!

Yabba Dabba Doooooooo
* I feel absolutely horrible. This weekend was the final weekend for a very good friend of mine (Norm Conners) in the world of pro wrestling. He has decided to retire. Saturday night I could not attend, but because of that damn family of mine (by the way that is a joke) I was supposed to make it on Friday night but could not. It really hurts me that I was unable to be there for a friend. It is the one thing in my life that I take seriously. Being there for someone when it is important. While I was there for my wife and children when they needed me on Friday night and of course my wife and children given what was going on had to come first, it still makes me sad that I was not there for Norm....and for that....I am very sorry.
* Meet Me At Mullen's. If you are reading this, and have not stopped down at Mullen's to sit and have a beer and some great food, then you are not a true friend of mine!!! I am there every day....there is no excuse that I would not see you there.

Why?
Why do I have 100 ice packs in my freezer?
Why am I the only one in my house who drinks coffee, and only drink it on weekends but for some reason on a cold Saturday morning when I need I cup I am always out???
Why do my nose hairs grow faster then my actual hair?
Why is Mullen's the best bar in the city of Pittsburgh? (OK...that was a cheap plug...but hey...I got like 50 kids I need to feed. Meet Me At Mullen's. Eat some wings, drink some beer. It's the holiday season and presents don't buy themselves!)
Why is it that I get a break from coaching of exactly one month. Baseball: January - July. Football: August - November?
Why is it that my car is such a pig sty? And why is it that I have zero idea how to spell sty or stie or stye or?????
Why is that this jewish kid from Greenfield that never celebrated Christmas as a child LOVES kids Christmas specials so much?

Cry
- Did the Steelers give up last night? I have NEVER seen the Steelers quit, but last night it looked like they gave up. It looked like it was too cold for them. I think they quit? I HOPE NOT! I did not play nor was I on the sidelines, but from the edge of my recliner waking up my kids with F bombs, it looked like the team quit.
Saturday night, I will be drunk.

I think we found radio gold today. His name is Derryck, but he likes to be called Tennessee. He just moved here from, you can guess where. Funny drawl, good sense of humor and holds the Guinness book of world record for being able to put the most McDonalds Straws in his mouth. He did it live on Jay Leno!
I have a major scheduling dillema in my life today. I am over commited once again, and the people that are going to take the brunt of my schedule....MY FAMILY! That sucks and I feel bad for them. I suck at life! But I am not a quitter.
Nothing really funny today. Sorry.

I read an article this morning that talks about how a smoker has a harder time giving up on their oral fixation as they do over coming their nicotine habit. My wife is a smoker and I can guarantee you she DOES NOT have an oral fixation.
Laugh at me if you want.....but I really want to go see Kiss in concert.
I would kill for dinner at Mallorca.....mmmmm......Paella.
Mike Brown WEC superstar will be live at Mullen's Saturday night for the UFC 107 pay per view. Stop out and meet him.
Our intern Bubbles just told us about her belly button piercing (it is a Chris Angel thing) and how it pussed for a year. (I just threw up in my mouth)

5:52: Coffee....I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
6:20: I made Buck watch Nestor the Long Ear Christmas Donkey. The scene where Nestor's mom lays here body on top of Nestor in a snowstorm....then dies.
7:11: Too much sleaze to get on the air....not enough time and too much garbage
7:15: Buck is discussing the pasta he made for his wife last night. Buck does all the cooking in his house. He says his wife does not cook. Buck is now eating left overs and wonders why I don't?
7:20: Buck just told me a story about how his wife hates tomatos unless they are cherry tomatos that he cooks in pasta
7:26: More coffee.....mmmmmmmmm
7:30: I am so pissed that the rest of the country is getting snow and we need to deal with this BS rain!!!

9:20: I was just thinking about lunch yesterday. I came up with something called a Pizza-dilla. When a pizza runs into a quesadilla. Flour tortilla, filled with sauce cheese and pepperoni then grilled. AWESOME! Gotta get that out of my mind.....gotta keep losing weight.

9:41: Taking my vitamins. Omega Fish Oil, Multi- Vitamin, Fat Burner, B-complex, ORAC Anti-Oxidant......now eating a blue pixie stick!!!

My yesterday.....
The day started with my mind going blank....maybe a good thing to some...but not for me!
The night ended great with the B94 Winter Blast. Flo Rida was super cool and the Ting Tings were nice, although apparently Katie freaked out on stage, but I missed it! She threw equipment or something!?!?!
But the middle of the day....I had to go home and clean my dogs ASS! Seriously...I wish it were not true. I have an awesome dog who is getting older (12). His name is Zeus and he is a Samoyed. My kids love him. My wife hates him (not sure what happened, she used to love him until her heart turned to coal). Well he had an issue. So my wife, puts him in his crate, and now I have to stop what I am doing, change all my plans...and shave my dog's ass! FMW!

hmmmm
I am sitting at my desk at B94 looking out the window at the grey beauty that is Green Tree. It is amazing how on an overcast winter day in Pittsburgh the city is devoid of color. Even a red car looks sort of grey. That's what happen's when God is a Steeler fan!

I hate feeling stressed. I have found that I over-worry about everything. Stephen (my GM at Mullen's) has begun to call me paranoid. I am not sure why I worry so much. I need some tips on destressing and not over analyzing every single thing. Wow....I just read this again...I sound like a chick! But...it is true.

I have lost 18 pounds. Started at an extreme fat ass of 224 lbs. Weighed in this morning at 206lbs.

As I sit here writing, I just realized for the first time in a LONG time....my head is blank. Nothing. Nunca. Nada! Could it be? Wow...this is a first. Usually it is running at 1000 miles per hour. But at this very moment....NOTHING!

Steelers
- OK....so I have read all the Facebook posts and Tweets about the Steelers loss today to the Raiders. It is amazing.
I was standing on the sidelines for the end of the game. The touchdown pass was literally 5 yards in front of me. The catch on the sidelines was two.
Here are the three things that I saw:
1. Joe Burnett MUST make that interception. Wookie made a comment to me saying "That is why he is a D back!" BS!!! He is an NFL player and he MUST make that play, at that critical of a moment. And let us not forget he was a kick returner in college. He knows how to catch the ball.
2. The jumpball on the sidelines, was literally who could jump higher. And, truth be told, everyone jumped for the ball, and nobody tried to stop the guy from catching it.
3. On the final touch down, nobody had the guy covered. Someone waved Ryan Munday to the other side of the field, as he was running there, he looked back and saw the receiver uncovered, raced back...by then it was too late.
4. (I know I said only three) On the hail mary pass at the end of the game. A Steeler (either Wallace or Sweed) had both hands on the ball, and just could not bring it down.
5. (I know...) that 15 yard penalty on Mundy was garbage.
But, with that being said we are 6 - 6, and will have to win EVERY game to even have a chance to make the playoffs. Mike Tomlin keeps saying, this is not our team. This is not who we are.
I beg to differ. If actions speak louder then words, this years Pittsburgh Steelers team IS a team that blew 6 games in the 4th quarter, and not any of the words in the world can change that.
I love the Steelers. I always will. They are MY team, just like they are YOUR team. But, I just hate it when we are down, and right now....we are down!

- Great weekend at Mullen's. I know I am biased, but we are without question the BEST sports bar in Pittsburgh. HANDS DOWN. Best TV viewing, best food, best staff, best specials. If you love sports, and this is not just an ad....if you are not watching it at Mullen's then you are missing something.
- People that think that the world owes them something, make me so mad. If you want something....work for it. Ask anyone that has ever been a part of my life as I have gone through it, I was NEVER handed anything. I have worked for everything.

Saturday in the.....uh....
- For those of us that at any point in our lives were athletes. We relive some moments in our minds over and over again. We relive the great moments and the bad ones. Sometimes the bad ones still throw shivers down our spines. Can you imagine how the Pitt Panther holder feels or will feel? I am still bummed out about the ball I dropped in the playoffs for the Greenfield Cardinals in little league. Or the homerun I gave up during a tied game against Steubenville University (yes there is one of those) when I pitched for Bethany College. Someone get that kid a shrink....stat.
- You know what is funny and never gets old to me. When you lick your own hand then wipe it down someone's face. Or, when you put your mouth over someone's nose and blow....and that crazy noise comes out of their mouth. Yes....WTF!?

- Had an awesome Club Sandwich at T's Locker Room in Burgettstown last night. They put a fried egg on it. I might just steal their recipe at Mullen's.

I have....
....floaters in my eyes. It looks like translucent worms are swimming through my eyeballs. What the hell is it?? Why does it make my head hurt?
- Listen. If Tiger Woods had a couple drinks. Made a mistake. Slept with a chick, and made a life changing mistake. (not that I am saying that is OK) Maybe his apology would be worth accepting. But when he spent SO much time and effort planning and covering his tracks and coniving, the apology becomes much harder to believe!
- I will be at Mullen's on the North Shore all weekend long. If you are reading this, stop down and say Hi.....(please)
- If you have comcast, in the next couple weeks you need to go to Dating On Demand. Jimmy Vegas' Dating Video will crack you the F up!
- If I could do one thing to make extra cash.....I would be the cheesiest lounge singer you could ever see. And, I would love every minute of it.

- I think in order to appreciate things, you need to struggle. Now don't get me wrong, there are people in the world that truly understand the meaning of struggle, but each of us have gone through tough times in our lives. I think you truly appreciate things, if there was a time when you had noTHING! I remember when I had to live off of free taco bell coupons from the radio station to eat. Although somehow....life was simpler!
- Ok....is it my imagination or when we were kids did it snow more? How is it almost Christmas and we have not had ANY snow. I feel like when I was kid I would have been on my old school Red Flyer, metal railed sled a c0uple of times by now.
- I have gone clothes shopping one time in the last 10 years. I know....you can tell.....but guess what....I don't care.
- Tonight....the return to the squared circle.....2/3 of the new triple threat.....Vegas and the Bulldog! Burgettstwon High School. I'm calling the Golden Boy now.....lets make it a full reunion!

- My son cried last night when talking about how fortunate we are ,and how there are boys and girls who are not as fortunate and some boys and girls that don't even have beds to sleep in. My children have GIANT hearts...and that makes me proud. For the holiday season, I am going to take them shopping and let each child buy something for someone that is not as forutnate.
- Yes....there is a Santa. Yes....I not only believe, but KNOW that Santa is real!

Stuff that fills the grey matter between my ears
- Who is going to be paid more? Tiger Woods Wife or Girlfriend? I know one thing. The one person who is NOT getting paid. Tiger Woods. Remember if you're going to cheat, make sure she is mute and does not own a phone or camera!
- I asked my daughter if my son was a lunatic. She said "No....he's just different"?
- We did a bit on the air this morning looking for odd habits. A woman said that "arm pits" were hers? She said petting other people's arm pits was "soothing" to her. Hmmmm.....let's all spend a second and contemplate that for a moment.
- I don't know if anyone (other then GB) reads this blog. Even if nobody is reading it, I still have really enjoyed writing it. (if you are reading it....let me know...bubba@mullensbarandgrill.com)
- Did I eat lunch today? Don't remember. I guess it doesn't matter because I am eating dinner and if I didn't eat lunch, I guess I just fooled my own stomach...SUCKER!
- I have psoriasis and that sucks!
- Is it normal that at least a couple of times a month my wife tells me that she wants to either stab my eyes or stab me in the heart? (could somebody make note of this just in case??)
- Having a bar for all these years there is one thing that I have learned that I now know to be a fact! When it comes to bathroom behavior, chicks are SO much more disgusting then guys.
- Do you ever reach an age when your parents aren't smarter and more wise then you? I love mine very much.

- I think sometimes it is OK to get mad at GOD. I am pretty sure he can take it.

Things on a Tuesday
Why is it that life is so much like the ocean? Sometimes you are at the top of the wave looking down, feeling great and in the matter of a second are crashing under water fighting to get back on top. It wouldn't be so bad if it happened once in a blue moon. It just seems to happen too often.
I wish I had time to sit down and draw.
Have you checked out Mullen's lately? We are doing some really cool things there. I really believe we have put together an awesome place. The best sports viewing in the city. Our food is really great. The staff is a blast. If you are looking for Pittsburgh's version of Cheer's. Mullen's is it!
I am sitting here in the room of my house with the Christmas tree. Somehow sitting here just makes you feel good. I spend next to NO time at all in this room during the year, but somehow find myself in this room ALL the time during the Christmas season. (YES....I have a Christmas tree)
What if pro wrestling were real life?
I am not sure if I like twitter or not. There are people on twitter that I find interesting to read. For example Chad Ocho Cinco (don't hate me....I still bleed black n gold). But he is an interesting guy. It's just a shame he plays for the Bungles! But, for some reason, I don't think that I can be that interesting in 150 characters (or whatever it is).
Then again....maybe this blog is not so interesting. I hope it gets better, today was just an energy sucker. Do you ever have one of these days? They seem to fall on Tuesday's.
Sorry that this blog is boring....I promise better.

Favorite Movie
I was filling out my profile and came across the questions....What is your favorite movie? What is your favorite music?
My question back is, why does anyone care that I cry every time I watch Will Smith's "The Pursuit of Happyness"? Or that McLovin is my hero?
Why does anyone care that I have an unusual level of enjoyment when I listen to Dave Matthews music? That no matter what mood I am in...a little DMB makes it all better.
Or that when nobody is looking and I put on some Luda, I sag my pants and walk around like I'm gangsta???
Or why does anyone care that I love Matisyahu and think his music is fantastic. Then I have to sit there and listen to non-tribe members try to pronounce it and can't. But to me, his lyrics speak to the soul. (am I getting too deep for you? If not listen to One Day by Matisyahu)
Then again, if you are reading this (and as of right now I have no idea if anyone is) you are reading this because you care about my "think tank".
I consider myself a pretty boring guy. My greatest moments have only happened in my brain. You can't imagine how many "buzzer beaters"I have made to win some sort of basketball championship in my life. And YES, I have even done this as an adult. If you say you have not, you are a liar!
I love the bar / restaurant business. It might be the one thing I am actually good at in the real world. (although 4 touchdown catches in this years Turkey Bowl really makes me realize, I should have at least considered going pro at some point) What other business can you throw a party every single day. I think I have an eye / ear for the business. When I walk in the front door, I usually can tell pretty quickly whether something is "right" or not.
When I tell people to "Meet Me At Mullen's"....I mean it! Why? Because I am there every single day. And I gotta say, I really have a passion for it's success.
What about radio you say? Radio is great. It's funny, I listen to old 40's and 50's radio shows to help me tell my story on the air. Think about it. When my dad was a kid, he used to sit around the radio and listen to these people talk and tell their story, and they would be captivated. That is what I try to do, draw a picture for the listeners. AND.....just not really give a crap of the consequences! Ask my wife, it is the one thing that drives her crazy. When I am in that studio, I don't think of anyone, just what I have to say. Maybe that is why all my neighbors don't like me?
An old program director of mine once told me. If you think about how what you say will effect others, you will never be successful. I have lived by that to this day except for when my words can make a POSITIVE change.
You see, when I started in radio making $8,000 a year, I saw a lot of Jack Asses in the business. I made an agreement with myself (there I went talking to myself again), that if anyone would ever listen to me, come to see me, or be interested in me, I would give them some substance. Something good besides the stupid jackass they hear on the radio.
I have lived by that creed to this day. When it comes to charities, or helping someone...the word NO is not in my vocabulary. (once again ask my wife, she says I work for FREE better then anyone she has ever met)
So....what is my Think Tank? Sometimes serious, sometimes stupid, sometimes irrelevant...but always ME!

Something good besides the stupid jackass they hear on the radio.
I have lived by that creed to this day. When it comes to charities, or helping someone...the word NO is not in my vocabulary. (once again ask my wife, she says I work for FREE better then anyone she has ever met)
So....what is my Think Tank? Sometimes serious, sometimes stupid, sometimes irrelevant...but always ME!

My first blog o the day
I saw that Melanie has her own blog. So, I became incredibly jealous and decided I need one of my own. So....here it is. Melanie...eat it sucker!
This blog will be random, sort of like my life and just be thoughts that rattle through my cranium (thanks Myron Cope)
* If you ever wondered how important Big Ben or Troy Polamalu are to the Steelers, last nights 20 - 17 loss to the Ravens are all the proof you need.
* Thanksgiving is an AWESOME holiday....why? Because it is 100% about family!
* Opening a bar on the South Side, right on Carson St. and I could NOT be more excited. This is going to be a blast. Mullen's on Carson....here we come!
* I am craving a Moon Burger right now. Not on my diet, but WHO cares!
* the sun just came out for about 1 second. I needed repowered like Ultra man!
* Today is a day that I feel very uneasy, and uncertain, but yet nothing seems to be wrong, and thank God everything seems to be going right?? Don't you hate those days?
* Buck makes the best fake fart noises ever. I wonder what they sound like in his own head?
* I had a blast at the WVU vs Pitt backyard brawl with my son, brother and his boys!
* the Steelers WILL, I repeat WILL make the playoffs this season!
* When do you get old enough that you stop caring about dumb things? I want to get there quickly....without the incontenence thing! Just the stop caring stuff.
