I want to say how sorry I am that I have not blogged for so many days. I suck!
I am really excited about what we are doing on the new B94 Morning Show with me and Mel.
A new found commitment to out listeners. It's not that we were neglecting our listeners, I just think we needed to do a better job talking to listeners every morning, about the things they are interested.
Let's face it. There is a reason why I don't have any friends...it's because NOBODY is interested in the things that I am....nor should they be.
So this whole thing works better when we focus on the things listeners are interested in.
* I love all this snow. (except from a business perspective at Mullen's) This was the kind of winters I remember as a kid. What fun. For all the weak ass winters we have had over the past few years. This one rocks! (But you should still come out and get some food and drinks at Mullen's)
* I really like the Mr. Rogers statue on the North Shore.
* I am going to go on the Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet.
* Conan did the right thing. Leno is old hat. He failed at his new show. He left his old show. N0w he wants to come back?? Conan is doing the RIGHT thing and will be better then ever wherever he lands.
* How is it the middle of January and the strawberries are so damn good?? Where do they come from???
* Life is like a game of poker: If you don't put any in the pot, there won't be any to take out.
* I am cheering for the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs since our beloved Black n Gold are out!!!
* What is up with the Penguins? C'mon Man!
* There are no TV's on in my house right now. The quiet is SO loud!!!
* Mark McGwire did steroids. Holy Crap! Are you kidding me?? Wow?? What's next...that Roger Clemens or Sammy Sosa or Sammy Kahlifa did them too???

Things can change in a day
So....here we are on a normal Friday. Doing a morning show. Fun bits. Harland Williams live in the studio who I love. Melanie and Buck sounding like idiots singing Idiot Idol. We had Alice on the air live from the Twilight movies....actually a pretty great show.
Nothing....I mean nothing strange about the day....at all.
Not a mention. Not a peep. Nothing.
Then...a text message to Melanie. Hey, can you meet me for a cup of coffee. It was from our boss.
Hmmm......No Bubba.....No Buck??? I wonder what is going on???
Then another text to Mel. If Bubba is there....can you bring him too???
(out of respect to everyone involved I will omit exactly what happened next before we left)
Then...a cup of Starbucks later and everything changed. One conversation and two years of hard work and effort all went away. The company had transferred Buck to our sister station in Detroit Michigan.
I am happy for Buck. He is reunited with his mentor in radio which is anybody in this businesses dream. I can tell you honestly that I will miss Buck. He made me laugh....a lot! I really felt like we had what was building to be a very special morning show. I was confident that 2010 was the year that Buckhead and Bubba took over!
Ok...now what??
You can sit back and wonder why?
You can sit back and worry about it....

Mel and I can go on Monday morning and kick ass!!
Guess what I choose.
Monday morning listen to the B94 Morning show starting at 6am.
I am ready. I have always been the 3rd string quarterback that was never given a chance.
I was bumped up to be the back up quarterback, and every once and a while was able to get into a game.
But now....I'm the starter. This is my chance. My chance to be great. I love my radio station. I love my city. I will never leave them. I promise great morning radio to all of the listeners at B94.
I will out work every morning show in Pittsburgh. This is my chance. I will not blow it.
Listen Monday morning if you don't believe me.
Buck....best of luck in Detroit. I am sure you will kick ass. When the Pens play the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup championship again, we duke it out one more time on the air.
Go to Detroit and take no prisoners!! I will be doing the same thing in Pittsburgh....

Crap in my head
- My wife bought me a shirt for Christmas. It looks nice, but I don't like the way it fits. I NEVER buy clothes by the way. She insists that it DOES fit me and that I MUST wear it. BUT....I don't like the way it fits. So, here is how this is going to play out. My wife will not let me return it, and I will never wear it! Then, she will be mad at me.
-Going to see the Cirque show dahntahn tonight!
- Buck is getting sick again
- Finally got the $4 wire that lets me listen to my I Touch in my car. BUT...I still listen to B94 all the time because they pay the bills (you need to listen too) but driving into work this morning in the snow jamming to Public Enemy was awesome!
- Dr. Mark Keenan is a fantastic Chiropractor
- Monsters Inc is a really fun movie to watch
- Is it me or does it just seem wierd that it is only the first week of January and Steeler season is over?
- I love the Penguins, but one thing that drives me crazy is the Pens fans that HATE the Steelers because they think it takes away attention from the Pens. Really?? How about if you are a Pittsburgh Sports team fan....."Can't We All Just Get Along?"

-Coop (mid day's B94) wears shirts that he leaves unbuttoned almost to his belly button. Not sure why he thinks that looks good. Oh....he does not have any hair on his chest. Not that I am looking, you just can't miss it.
- Still snowing
- We are discussing the infomercial with the brownies that you make and are pre cut. That is the laziest invention ever. That you can't cut a pan of brownies with a knife, might be the most pathetic thing ever.
- I LOVE infomercials. If I had more money I would buy everything.

2:17am and writing
So, I just got home from Mullen's and had a friend meet me down there for soda's. (not a code word...we really just drank Pepsi) and we sat and (sorry just got interrupted because my dog Zeus had to go out and make a dookie) just talked about life and him moving back to Pittsburgh etc.
We had UFC tonight which usually is really busy and packed, but because of the meteorologists in the city, we were slower then usual. Freezing temperatures and 6 - 8 inches of snow.
If you read my earlier blogs you would know about my day today. Fun, cold, snowing in the mountains, crazy drive to get off the mountain with almost bald tires in a mini van...but I digress.
I want to take a second for you and I to wonder if there is another profession in the world that has as immediate of an impact in every person's life (mainly during the winter) then a weather person>
I am friends with Demetrius Ivory (name drop) and I actually think he is great at what he does, but stop and think about how they impacted just my life today. Not just how they may have impacted yours??
1. They made me fight with my wife. Now it really does not take much for that to happen, but still, I only have one day more of vacation (time out...I think my dog's penis has frozen to the lamp pole...I'll be right back) (ok...a little hot water took care of that)
2. the undo stress of relaxing with my kids, and worrying about how I was going to drive those bald ass tires through the snow
3. What should have been a packed house at Mullen's for a great UFC pay per view (which costs us a TON more then it does if you buy it at your house) was very slow for us, thus costing us income.
So, what was the result??? Yes, it did snow at Hidden Valley. But, here in Pittsburgh...NOTHING! From South Hills to the North Shore....nothing! Now I am sure D would tell me that it DID snow somewhere in the viewing area, but in my world, outside of my afternoon at the mountain....NOTHING! Just Cold!
So....riddle me this Batman....what other job in the world...can you effect people's lives IMMEDIATELY like a weather person?
Then......if you are wrong...it doesn't matter.....why? Because the next day....you are predicting tomorrow's weather.....unless there is a blizzard, or a tornado, or something tragic, they don't ever talk about "what happened" only what will happen to mess with MY LIFE!!
Sorry D...I love you like a brother, and I tried to text you to find out the weather, but you did not get back to me....just need to vent! (I write this like I think he ever reads my blogs???)
In closing......ah crap....I got nothing....just sitting here in the middle of the night myself, writing a blog. Which if you think about it is no different then talking to yourself...which they put people away for!!!!

OK.....my wife came downstairs and said that now WE ARE GOING! Welcome to my life! Living on ever whim and breeze that blows. 10 inches of snow and -9 degrees in the Bubba Family Truckster here we come! You have got to be kidding me.....mark my word...even if there is a blizzard....I am driving home tonight....I have a friendship to save by tomorrow!!!

The weather forecast for Hidden Valley on all three TV stations, weather.com and the Hidden Valley site is 7 - 10 inches of snow today. High temperature of 10 degrees with wind chills -9 degrees. But MY WIFE insists that none of this is going to happen and that we should go anyway. When I told her that -9 degrees was too cold for anyone to go tubing she told me to suck it up.
THEN I find out that what she REALLY means is the fact that SHE has no plans on going tubing at all, and in fact I am the one taking them tubing??!?!?!?!?
So, what sucking up is she doing? Trust me...we are married. There is very little sucking of anything going on!
Never mind....she just came downstairs and said we are going bowling with the neighbors. Whoops.....sorry.......looks like I win.....hahahaha
